So, our recipe is for those who are looking for easy ways and are not embarrassed to admit it! Lazy apple strudel from lavash according to this recipe is extremely easy to prepare, exotic in nature, appetizing and interesting in taste. A wonderful simple dish!
When you get tired of our filling option, you can diversify it: add dried fruits, berries, nuts, vanilla sugar... Whatever you like! Feel free to experiment. In the meantime, let's cook according to a very original recipe...
Ingredients:
- fresh apples – 3 - 4 pieces,
- granulated sugar – 3 tablespoons,
- ground cinnamon – ½ teaspoon,
- walnut kernel – 100 grams,
- thin pita bread – 1 piece,
- lemon – 1 piece or half, to pour over the chopped apples,
- butter or thick sour cream - a little, for soaking the strudel,
- powdered sugar - for sprinkling.
Recipe with photos step by step:
We wash the apples in cold water, dry them with a towel, peel them, and remove the core and seeds. Next, chop into thin slices and sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent them from darkening.
Sprinkle apples with granulated sugar and ground cinnamon and stir.
We lay thin Armenian lavash on the table. It must be fresh, not dried out, otherwise it may break during the folding process and the dish will not turn out.
Melt butter in the microwave or on the stove (about 50 grams). Or we take thick, fatty sour cream (ideally, rustic sour cream). Grease our flatbread.
Arrange the chopped apples on. Along the circumference of the cake (or perimeter, if it is rectangular) leave 1 centimeter from the edges.
We sort out the walnut kernels, chop them finely, grate them or crush them with a press. Sprinkle the apple filling with chopped nuts.
Carefully roll everything up into a roll.
Transfer the roll to a clean, dry baking sheet. Again coat with melted butter or sour cream.
Place the strudel in a preheated oven (180-200 degrees) and bake until deliciously golden brown (10-15 minutes).
We take out our dish and leave it to cool.
Now take a very sharp good knife (this is important) and while still slightly warm, cut the strudel into pieces. Sprinkle it with powdered sugar and serve with tea.
Isn't it a miracle? Fast and tasty! Enjoy your meal!

Many people love a popular dessert that came to us from Germany called strudel - it is juicy, light and not cloying. But you don’t always have time to cook it, so today we’ll look at a much faster, but no less tasty option - pita bread pie with apples in the oven. Regardless of whether we make it in a slow cooker or in the oven, the dough will be soaked in aromatic apple juice and will turn out unusually tender and airy.
Apple pie made from thin lavash can not only be prepared in different ways, but also decorated differently each time, as well as vary the filling ingredients, which will always give your favorite dessert new shades.

How to cook pita bread with apples
This recipe has a minimum of ingredients, so the delicacy will turn out very quickly!
- Wash the apples well, and if they were purchased out of season in the supermarket, it is better to rub them thoroughly with a sponge to remove the special coating from the peel.
- First cut them into quarters, and then across each slice into thin slices. You shouldn’t chop them completely to make the pie easy to eat, but it’s better not to make them large either, otherwise the roll won’t wrap.
- As soon as everything is ready, unfold the pita bread on the table and lay the apples on it in an even layer so that the edges can be tucked inward - this way the juice will not leak out.
- Sprinkle the filling with plain and vanilla sugar and carefully roll it into a loose roll.
- Place it on a baking sheet lined with baking paper or greased with oil.
- Place pieces of butter on top and set to bake. At a temperature of 190°C, apple pie from pita bread will be cooked in the oven in 20 minutes.
- Take out the finished pie and immediately sprinkle with powdered sugar, let cool for half an hour, transfer from the baking sheet and cut into portions. If you take out the roll too early, it may fall apart. For the same reason, it is better not to cut it when it is very hot.
As you can see, preparing pita bread pie with apples is not easy, but very simple! For those who want to treat themselves to a more refined delicacy, we recommend trying our next recipe.
Preparing this dessert will take a little longer, but the result will pleasantly surprise you!
- Wash and cut 3-4 medium apples into small cubes.
- Melt 1 tbsp in a frying pan. butter and, as soon as it melts, add the apples.
- Immediately add 2 tbsp. Sahara.
- Simmer everything over low heat, stirring for 10-15 minutes until softened, then add ½ tsp. cinnamon and 1 tbsp. bread crumbs and keep for another 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Unroll the thin pita bread on the table and distribute the filling on one half, leaving the edges free. We tuck them in and then roll them up.
- In a cup, beat the egg with 1 tbsp. sugar and a pinch of cinnamon and brush the surface of the pita bread with a pastry brush - this will create a golden brown crust and make the pie incredibly appetizing.
- Place the roll on a greased baking sheet and place it in a hot oven. Keep at 180°C for 20-25 minutes and remove.
- Ideally, the pie should have a caramel crust, but if it has not hardened and the butter has been absorbed, we can sprinkle the pita bread with a mixture of powdered sugar and cinnamon.
Let the pie cool for at least half an hour and cut into portions and serve.
Variant of pie with honey
This same recipe can be further enriched by adding nuts and honey.
- After we put the apple filling on the pita bread, sprinkle it with 2 tbsp. chopped walnuts.
- If the honey is liquid, a few drops are enough to add flavor, and if it is solid, place it in pieces on top of the nut layer.
In this recipe, you don’t have to add cinnamon so as not to overpower the honey-nut flavor.
But what to do if it is not possible to use the oven? You won’t have to deny yourself such a wonderful delicacy - just use the favorite gadget of many housewives - a multicooker.
In addition, the dessert prepared in it will differ in presentation from the usual roll.
- Wash and cut 2 large or 3 small apples into quarters, and then cut them crosswise into thin slices.
- Immediately prepare the filling: combine 100 ml of yogurt without additives with 1 egg and 1 tbsp. with a heap of powdered sugar. Mix everything until smooth.
- Place a sheet of pita bread into the multicooker bowl so that there is some extra edge left - we will use it to cover the pie later.
- Lay out 1/4 of the apples, sprinkle it evenly with 1.5 tbsp. sugar and, if desired, cinnamon and vanilla sugar.
- We tear or cut another sheet of pita bread into strips 3-4 cm wide and dip them in the yogurt filling. Place on top of the apples in one layer.
- Again we lay out a layer of apples, sprinkled with sugar and spices, and again cover them with soaked strips of pita bread.
- We also cover the third layer of apples with pita bread, and then lay the remaining fruits on top, form sides from the edges of the first layer and fill everything with the sweet egg mixture.
- Set to “Baking” mode and leave for 35 minutes. After the time has passed, check the readiness and, if necessary, add another 5-10 minutes.
Let the finished layered lavash pie with apples cool slightly and remove from the bowl, turning over. Decorate it with powdered sugar, fresh berries or almond petals on top.
Serve with tea cooled and cut into portions. Bon appetit!
Options for fillings for lavash pie
Regardless of where we decide to make pita bread with apples, in the oven or in a slow cooker, its main advantage is its ease of preparation.
It turns out delicious using only apples and pita bread, but additional ingredients will also benefit it.
Dried fruits
Raisins and prunes go well with apples and honey. If they are too hard, it’s better to soak them for half an hour to make them juicy and only then add them to the filling. Cut the prunes into pieces and add the raisins just like that.
Dates will give the pie a caramel flavor, and dried apricots will make it more spicy.
Fresh fruits and berries
We can safely add any fruit, but pears, oranges and fresh or defrosted cherries will add a special twist.
Before adding any citrus fruits, remove the film from them. We remember that along with sour berries and fruits, we must increase the amount of sugar in the filling.
Nuts
Walnuts are a basic addition to cinnamon and apple. In addition to these, roasted almonds are also suitable. Nuts with a mild, unexpressed taste like cashews will dissolve, and we may not feel them at all.
Sesame is good to use as decoration. Sprinkle it over the egg-buttered pie before putting it out to bake.
Now you know how to prepare a simple and incredibly tasty dessert. Lavash pie with apples in the oven or slow cooker will make any tea party a real holiday. Both family and friends will appreciate this delicacy!

If you are not very friendly with dough, and pastries are not the most frequent guest on the table, we offer a non-standard recipe for apple strudel in pita bread. This sweet dessert is so easy to prepare that even those who have never seen a rolling pin and barely understand the difference between puff pastry, yeast pastry and shortbread can handle it.
Lazy lavash strudel with apple
This quick strudel can be made not only with apples, but also with cherries for the filling. Moreover, the roll can also be savory, for example, with meat or potatoes and cheese.
Ingredients:
- lavash sheet – 1 pc.,
- fresh apples – 4 pcs.,
- cinnamon – 0.5 teaspoon,
- sugar – 1/3 cup,
- butter – 20 g.
Cooking process:
In addition to apples, you can put soaked raisins or chopped walnuts in the strudel. They will give baked goods a new interesting taste.
Turn on the oven to preheat and begin preparing the apple filling.
Wash the apples and cut off the skin thinly. The more pulp remains on the fruit, the more it will go into the strudel. In a cold, clean, dry frying pan, cut the apples into small pieces. In fact, it doesn’t matter how you chop them; you can even grate them. In the strudel they will still turn into a sweet apple mass. Pour sugar and cinnamon into the pan.
Stir and place the apples over low heat to caramelize. Until the sugar melts, stir constantly so that it does not burn. When the apples boil, simmer them over the same low heat without a lid for about 7 minutes until the pieces are soft.
Melt the butter in a water bath or in the microwave. Remove the apples from the stove, unroll the lavash sheet and grease it with liquid oil. The roll turns out to be long, so for convenience, cut a sheet of Armenian lavash in half.
Place sweet and soft pieces on top and even them over the entire sheet.
Roll it up. Transfer it either to a baking sheet or into a baking dish.
Place the strudel in a hot oven for 20-25 minutes, cook at 180 degrees. When the pita bread is golden, you can take out the baked goods: it will be crispy on top and very juicy inside.
I’m sure that after making this strudel once, you’ll start making it all the time. Bon appetit!

- – To prepare the filling, apples can also be chopped on a coarse grater. Only in this case, if the fruit is quite juicy, before forming the pies, it will be necessary to drain the resulting apple juice so that during the cooking process the inside of the dish does not become soggy and does not tear right in the pan.
- – Instead of walnuts, you can add any other nuts to the filling to your taste.
- – To prepare the filling for pies, it is best to use sweet, hard apples.
- – Lavash pies with apples can also be baked in the oven. To do this, it is best to grease a baking sheet with vegetable or melted butter with a pastry brush, and brush the top of the pies with beaten egg yolk so that the pies have a golden brown crust.
